Avoiding the bridge ferry passengers from Mallaig enter the delightful wooded countryside of Sleat, more Surrey than Skye. Spring flowers and autumn colours make this landscape, together with its distant views of the Cuillins, the islands of Eigg and Rhum and inaccessible Knoydart.
